Q: Why does my BLS card no longer say “BLS for HealthCare Providers”?

A: AHA released the new BLS (2015 guidelines) in February of 2016. The new card now states “BLS” instead of “BLS for HealthCare Providers”. The AHA issued a statements that says, “The new BLS Course replaces the BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS HCP) and BLS for Prehospital Providers (BLS PHP) courses”.
